Today I went through Flying Pincushion's Into the Breach: Inquisitor finishing all the base classes of that series. With everything this far along I wanted to take a look at the company and it's products as a whole.
Way back when, Flying Pincushion was partnered with d20pfsrd.com Publishing producing Into the Breach: Magus and Into the Breach Summoner. Both books had some growing pains although the Summoner entry had a revision that fixed everything. Since breaking off and publishing on their own they've continued with the Into the Breach series with mixed results. Sometimes crunch is off and not everyone at my table can agree on how good or poorly its balanced but the series has always been innovative and imaginative bringing out a lot of options and new play experience. By my count two were disasters I didn't like while the rest range from okay to off the wall amazing.
Oddly enough the all-star product in my opinion was Tides of War: Mounted Charging Feats. While Into the Breach can boast new play experience I never felt like I needed anything as opposed to enthusiastically wanting. Tides of War: MCF is something that is needed, as in if you charge on a mount then you NEED that book. Its short and simple but packs one heck of a punch.
If you want to pick something up I would take a look at the reviews carefully. Even the entries that I didn't like can still impact your game in a very positive way with some GM adjustment or cherry picking so look for things that you just don't want to deal with and make your choice. But if you don't gold digging for nice options I would recommend any of them.
You can find Flying Pincushion's products over here at Paizo.com.
The entries for Magus and Summoner are found on d20pfsrd Publishing's page.
Thanks for the honest reviews and feedback Malwing!
